and multi media exhibits. Goldberg photographs a lot of sub cultures,
and creating photo collages. In 1985 Goldbergs book 'Rich and Poor' was
published, the book is full of photographs of people in their homes along
with their handwritten comments made by the subject giving the reader an
insight to their lives.

slow shutter speed research!
'In photography, shutter speed is a common term used to discuss exposure time,
the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open. The total exposure is
proportional
to this exposure time, or duration of light reaching the film or image sensor.' *
i think when you use a slow shutter speed you can get photo's that look
magical, because by leaving the shutter open for longer it allows the
camera to take in more light and you end up with pictures that a filled
with what seems like the light moving and dancing around the photograph.

tilt shift photography..
'Tilt-shift photography refers to the use of camera movements on small- and medium-format cameras, and sometimes specifically refers to the use of tilt for selective focus, often for simulating a miniature scene. Sometimes the term is used when the shallow depth of field is simulated with digital post-processing, the name may derive from the tilt-shift lens normally required when the effect is produced optically.' *
when i was researching tilt shift photography i came across the photographs below and they really stood out strongly as some of my favorites.
'Movements have been available on view cameras since the early days of photography; they have been available on smaller-format cameras since the early 1960s, usually by means of special lenses or adapters. Nikon introduced a lens providing shift movements for their 35 mm SLR cameras in 1962, and Canon introduced a lens that provided both tilt and shift movements in 1973; many other manufacturers soon followed suit' *
studio work
i wouldn't normally choose to do studio work, but i did it today and once i got into it i really enjoyed it, and i think i've got some good photo's and i'm happy with them. i haven't edited these ones because i dont really think they need it. i worked with someone else in the studio and we got loads of photo's but after going through them all i've chosen the ones i believe are the best to put on here :)!
painting with light!
when we did the painting with light i used a slow shutter speed to capture the shapes and drawings we did. i really enjoyed doing this, because you can be as creative as you want and it looks really good and i like the effect it makes, i think next time i do this i'm going to experiment with different colored lights and different shapes, but overall im happy with the photographs that i got !
Adding definition to something insignificant..
Depth of Field.
when concentrating on something that might normally be insignificant you can use depth of field to add emphasis and to add detail which will make it more interesting... here's some of the work i did messing around with depth of field.

so today we were told we needed to take a selection of photos to put together in a sequence to make a sort story/film type thing. me and katie decided to use bluetac to make small figurines, it took some time, but we got there and were happy with the result! have a watch.. enjoy xx
STREET PHOTOGRAPHY/LEEDS..

Street photography is a type of documentary photography that features subjects in candid situations within public places. Today we went out and took pictures of our interpretations of street photography, i took photographs of people riding BMX's because its something that personally interests me, i used a fast shutter speed to capture this picture and I'm happy with the result i got!  This is another example of street photography done by a photographer that i found looking on other peoples blogs. i like the perspective this photograph has been taken in. |
